Sasa Randic (Croacia)

In 2004 they received a major national acknowledgment for architectural practice the Viktor Kovacic Prize, for the extension of the Technical Faculty in Rijeka. In 2005 they received the Slovenian Piranesi Award for the Elementary School in Krk and the Croatian State Award for Architecture Vladimir Nazor for the same building in 2006.

Elementary School in Krk was included in the selected works of the 2007 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award.

In 2006 they have represented Croatia at the 10th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale with the research project on the Croatian coast, published in the book titled: “In-between: a book on the Croatian Coast, transitional processes, and how to live with them”.

Since 2003 he has been President of the CAA, where he has initiated different researches on transformational processes in the Croatian territory, like the 1st Congress of Croatian Architects in 2004 dedicated to the Construction on the Coast, and pilot project Croatian Archipelago New Lighthouses (CAA-BI Rotterdam), presented in Rotterdam Biennale 2005. He was the head of the organizational board of the 38 Zagreb Salon in 2003 (Commissioner Stefano Boeri) and the 41 Zagreb Salon in 2006 (Commissioner Manuel Gausa), a triennial exhibition of architectural production in Croatia.

He has lectured and participated in panels in IAAC and UPC Barcelona, TU Munich, ETH Zurich, Berlage Institute Rotterdam, GSD Harvard.

Lives and works in Rijeka and Zagreb, Croatia.
